There were better shows that tour, but this one was pleasant straight through. Phil is dead wood though, like the drumming. Bob is OK and Jerry is flying and would have benefited from more input. I mean how fucking ironic. Let It Grow was best!

I would add that the iko out'v space is very nice. Youtube video of the whole show shows it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns4osAAcYCs

Subject: Solid '81 show.
This is a really nice '81 with some definite terrific moments. In particual.

First Set:

CC Rider, while not a favorite of mine, caught my attention as a pretty hot rendition.

Friend of the Devil is highlight of the show. Jerry rips it to shreds and from the first note to the last it pleases the ears.

Mexacali, Bird Song and Let it
Grow all have real nice guitar leads.

Second Set:

Terrapin nice.

Lost/Saint is really tight and strong.

The Stella Blue is primo.

Overall, a very good '81 performance with excellent recording quality. The more I listen to this year, the more I like it.

Notes

Patch Info:
Nakamichi 300 -> Master Cassette -> Dat -> CD (shnid=8918) supplies:
Space (0:05 - 3:51)
Iko Iko (0:07 - 0:41)

Notes:
-- Set 2 is seamless
-- Begining of Mama Tried missing
-- Spot of diginoise in last verse of Terrapin Station
